Hover fly hovering

I used the 300mm F4 PF ED lens.

I was standing under a low tree waiting for the birds to
reveal them selves. I noticed these black spots hovering
and darting around just at eye level . Moving around to
find a suitable bg and the right light, I shot about a
hundred frames.

I've photographed these creatures thinking I've captured an image of a bee... they can fool one that is for sure.

These flies are tiny aren't they? Some are quite pretty too. Good shot.;-)

They are small Jan. Sandi when they are in front of you you can't
make out much of them. Darting to and fro but for a second or two
they do hover. Thank you both for commenting. Be safe.

Fast-frame photography comes in handy and even then you may not get the desired photo. That's a great capture.
