I took this image of the poppy (after a recent thunderstorm) and it seemed all the worse for wear though I did find its tattered and worn look rather appealing.

I liked the strong color, the contrast between poppy and background and the water droplets which added to the sense of the texturing.

The peonies come and go so quickly... started to flower in the middle to late June and by the first week of July they are mostly scattered throughout the public garden at Upper Fort Garry Historical Park.
