Lark Sparrow

This species is a rare and irregular winter resident. A
fort timer for me.

Well detailed with the sunlight highlighting both color and detail. The contrast between the Lark Sparrow and the background creates a strong sense of depth in the picture. From the sparrow's pose one would think that it had been caught in a gust of wind blowing right to left in the picture.

That should read a 'first timer for me'

Thanks Jan, a split second before take off. There were about 4 or 5
of the Lark Sparrows. Everybody got excited,

The sunflower seed in the bill really gives a sense of scale to the image. That seed would disappear in our fingers but it fills the bill of the Lark Sparrow.

They are darling looking birds. You captured good details on them. Nice job, Steve.;-)

Well, technically it's not winter yet. :)
