This was taken late in the day in October - not the best time for this style of photography. It was a one-off chance whilst I was passing.

The masts of the sailing boats complements the vertical lines of the windmill... enhanced for me with a more vertical format to the image.

Interesting scene. Would love to see in daylight, too. Didn't know they had windmills in UK.

Interesting indeed and difficult to get a "clean" composition! At first I thought a square, but tried it and did not like. So, if this was my photo, the only thing I'd do would be to use the clone tool to clean up a little, where possible, and perhaps open up a bit the midtones.
