The Observer

Whilst on holiday recently, I looked up and saw this interesting silhouette. As taken except that I 'demolished'just one lamp-post!

I find your b&w composition works well with the setting to create a sense of mood in the image... loneliness, vigilance. The railing works to lead the eyes of the viewer from the observer down through the image to the left edge even though the observer is looking more in the viewer's direction.

The composition is very nice, well balanced. I like the diagonal lines of the rail and then at almost the opposite angle created by the clouds.

I was trying to guess where the "demolished" lamp had been.

I like the angular composition, and that it has detail in the dark areas, rather that a total silhouette.

Very Nice image, John. I was thinking might be nice to slightly lighten the LRC through the grasses to sort of produce a 2 corner triangular capture of the main subject...as the sky area is almost a triangle as well ?? ( I did not try it, myself)

"All alone am I ever since your goodbye. All alone with just a beat of my heart. People all around but I don't hear a sound. Just the lonely beating of my heart."

Good one, John!
