Sometimes the Puget Sound can get very colorful at sunset.

With some golden drops of the autumn leaves and the velvety moss. In my mind it compares to a curtain, woven with all those interlaced branches...

I like the image even better set against a black background. I like the sense of the curtain created by the trunks of the trees and the colors (though muted in nature they add to the sense of a living curtain).

Lightroom adjustments only, Ruth. I took the photo a couple of years ago at this time of year and worked on it then, but I recall wanting to get detail in the branches so the lichen would show up well. I'm sure I must have gone into the HSL panel to bring out the green on the shadow side of the branches.
