Beautiful subject, but the falls are more interesting than the trees (to me), and they're far
away.

The bridge and the adjoining rock formation serves as a natural framing for the waterfall. This view reminds me of a location along state highway 61 along the north shore of Lake Superior.

Welcome to PC.
Although it can seem trite, a slower shutter speed would yield a more pleasing waterfall. Other than that, and maybe a slight tilt, it is a nice photo

Thanks for your opinions and tips. I am new to photography and need the
unbiased opinions of other people.

Hi Gregory !

First you may post larger 1024X900 and 200kb maximum and that would be helpful.

I think you did very well for a "newbie" !

I'm OK with the composition as posted but there are many others within the frame.

I am not sure there is an actual tilt as the verticals seem about right
but the bridge seems to slope down to the right and that is easy to "correct".
Actual geometry is not as important as "apparent" geometry if this is art not just documentation.

Some folks prefer totally blurred moving water as a matter of taste.
This suits me just fine as posted with the blur matching acceleration and increasing appropriately with distance fallen.

The light seems quite flat and I think this scene can have a number of different moods depending on light.
A good exercise when starting out in photography is to shoot the same scene on different days and at different times of day.

Below is a different interpretation:

A nice scene and well composed, Greg. There's several things that could be improved, however: the color seems unnatural with a blueish/purple tint; the lighting is flat and lacking detail in the shadows; a longer exposure (with a tripod) would have given the water a silky effect; it also could be a little sharper, and the bridge should be straightened, as it is leaning a little to the right. I have submitted my interpretation. I also increased the saturation a little.
