I like how the red facade of the house stands out in the near b&w feel of the balance of the image. Got a similar photograph yesterday at the Zoo with a vividly colored snack shack set against a snowy landscape... seemed so surreal with the contrast, as here, between the color and the b&w nature of the trees and snow.

It looks like a fairy tales house. The little red house in the wood... Very nice.

Why place the subject dead in the middle of the frame?

1. I do not come from the school that all centered comps are bad.
2. In this case, for me, the trees on the left form an important part of the comp and offset the roughly centered building. If the trees weren't there I might have moved the building more off center.
3. I am quite satisfied with this comp. It satisfies my eye.

Thanks for your input. We just seem to disagree.

My favorite of your recent winter scenes! It must be the bit of red in a cold winter scene!
