Chambered Nautilus

I decided to try to take a picture without my camera. To produce this photo, I placed this divided chambered nautilus shell on my Kodak All In One ESP 5250 Printer/Scanner. Over the shell I placed a box with a black interior. One thing I forgot to do was thoroughly clean the surface of the glass (you can see small specks of dust if you look closely). I also rendered a black and white image which I find interesting.

Any interesting manner in which to present the chambered Nautilus with the contrast between the lightness of the chambered Nautilus and the darkened background helps to enhance the detailing to be found on the interior curve of the shell.

I like the detail inside the shell and the dark background to highlight it...a dramatic image. The method that you used to get this image is quite interesting...I would never of thought of doing it this way. Well done...

I like them both but if I had to choose just one I would choose the colour version.

Very nice! Thanks for the black box idea!

I like them both too, but this one is my preferred. Fine tones and details!

A timeless pattern! Dust is always a problem with scanner pics. A little time spent cloning is well worthwhile.
