The same shot in B&W.

I cannot make a choice between these two images. I like the opening picture for the color (especially with the stained glass window at the bottom of the picture) and the sense of symmetry while the b&w version gives emphasis to the geometric shapes to be found in the setting and there is a strong sense of flow that is created by the geometric shapes which works to carry the eyes of this viewer through the image.

I prefer the black and white for the reasons Jan has given. I think the B/W version looks sharper with great contrast. The detail stands out much more, and I am not distracted by the colors.

I like both versions. All the colors in that version are warm toned which I personally like. The
B&W is excellent. I'd get a sore neck extracting a little here and there.

Great Shot ! Great Comp ! Both are winners, but I end up preferring the B&W, because I think the foreground stain glass colors in the colored photo, seems just a touch pushed and a touch out of sorts with the rest of the feel of that photo. The B&W keeps everything more insink. (IMHO)

I prefer the B&W version - but surely both are great!

B&W for me too .. love the details that the monochrome brings out.

Both are good, but B&W is a bit better, for the reasons Greg gave.

Each is effective in a different way.
Both show your typical concern for high production values.

But I think the architect and the painter saw it in color and I prefer to see it their way.

The strong graphical qualities in the B/W version overpower the painted figures.

The colours used work well together and make it the stronger of the 2 for me
