Hiding in the Flower Garden

I have been shooting for hobby for a while now and really want to get better it. I don’t have a real great camera or equipment. (Fujifilm S5100). I tried to position myself where a few stems from the flowers ‘framed’ the face. I have seen were OOF in the FG is bad, but I think I it kinda works here to give the feeling of the bird “Hiding in the Flower Garden”. Comments are always appreciated, both good and bad.

Just for the sheer excitement of being able to find a baby bird in the grassy setting would be enough for me to overcome any apparent shortcomings. I like the textural feel (as if the viewer could reach right into the image and feel the softness of the young bird's plummage), the catchlight in the eye, and how with a black background that this bird stands out well in this image.

This is really good, hey theres no problem with that camera, this is really a cute shot, I agree I feel I could reach out and touch it.

This is one of those "Ahhhhhhhhh, it's so cute," shots. It's a good image, and one not seen everyday.

It is really cute. The baby bird looks chubby, well-fed, and satisfied. As soon as mom shows up though, it will act as though it hasn't been fed, ever!

Given the way you have framed the birds head (and particularly the beak) there is no problem with the oof fg stems. Nice shot!
