Cool... I like the open water mixed with the striking mountain view with that open water leading the viewer deep into the image. Is this the Bow River?

Lovely spot. What are those lines in the deep shadows of the trees...power lines or something else?

Yes Jan - it's the Bow. Thanks for your comment.

Ah Sandi - you caught me out. I had to clone out two power poles and
got lazy with the power lines. I'll try to do better next time.
Thanks though for your comments.

An extreme exposure challenge ranging from bright whites to deep shadows. At least
on my iPad there's no detail in the trees which might open up in processing. An ND
grad filter would help in a scene like this. I have one but sometimes pay for being too
lazy to deal with it or head out for a trip and leave it I the gear cupboard. Overall I like
your composition although if I was standing in your spot I'd compose with less sky. Just
a personal thing about bald, powder blue sky.

Thanks for your comments Jeff. I had such a filter in my bag but
haven't been too happy with the result on other photos. Guess I could
have taken one with and one without. Maybe next time.
