Sundown on Fir Island

The snow geese filled the sky for miles as they headed to
their overnight bed-down location.

Wow, that is some view to witness. Lovely sunset colors, and the almost dark foreground trees against the sky. Good job, Michael.;-)

Great Michael. I'm going to Victoriaville, Quebec next week, if the
weather co-operates. Supposed to be a couple 100k Snow Geese on the
lake. It is a sight and sound to behold.

Your image of the sunset sky peppered with the snow geese really serves to capture the migratory nature of geese. I've never seen this many geese on the wing in my life though I know that Manitoba is on the migratory route of these birds.

Thanks, Sandi, Steve, and Jan. it is some kind of moment to witness something so grand. I could have taken a like photo ahead of this one and another in back of it to get all the geese that were in the air.

Steve, I read that lots more food has become available these days, so the numbers have gotten out of hand in some areas like North Dakota. Sound true of Quebec, too. Hope to see some of your pics when you get back.

Hard to encapsulate big nature events in a single image, but this works well.
