I find a grey or black background works best with your image of the osprey enhancing the detailing. I find even at the distance of your shot that the eyes of the osprey really serve to focus the attention of the viewer... one can only imagine what a possible prey must feel when it senses and realizes those eyes are fixed upon it.

I had the same reaction, Jan. The intensity of the eyes makes me
feel as if the osprey is zeroing in and coming right at me.

Perfect in flight composition. Don’t care much for the background but maybe the
original was messy.

Thank you for commenting. Iroquois,Quebec is about 90 mins from
Montreal so I can't go too often. The hill beside the Osprey platform
is eye level so angles like this are possible.
I wanted to maximize the impact, so I changed the bg, which was
washed out anyway.
Last May, I borrowed my friends Nikon 300mm F4 PF to shoot the
Osprey, I was so impressed with the lens I purchased my own. All
credit goes to the lens.
