GreEgret lift Off

This was taken in Sainte Martine. A small town, 30 mins
outside Montreal. All sorts of birds gather here, large and
small. Mostly go there for the shore birds, Sandpipers
mostly.

I saw a GBH strutting towards a female across an expanse of water,
head held in a manner like in the image. She ( I assumed a female )
jumped down from the shore ledge and joined him strutting in sync. I
have never seen a 'mating dance' from a Heron before. Again I am
assuming because, she walked off seconds later ignoring him
altogether.

I like the connection between the egret and the water with the water flowing off the leg of the bird. That white plumage really makes the bird visually "pop" in the picture.

Don't know what to make of the second image but the thought of a chorus line comes to mind.

Thanks Jan, Paul. It's not often I see one of nature's rituals. It
was off in the distant. The stride/strut of the Heron caught my eye
as abnormal. Like someone walking quickly to the bathroom. He walked
past her, turned his head to see if she was watching, then he turned
and she joined him.

That "Lift Off " is another prize winning photo. One of those moments
when it all comes together.
