Someone's a little excited to get their picture taken. The red feathering stands out strongly against the black plumage with the whole bird in turn standing out against the diffused feel of the background.

Just did a Google on this bird. The male is all black with a red shoulder and yellow wing bar, while the female is a nondescript dark brown.

You don't want to piss these birds off..
Dirty little back stabbers, one dive bombed me in the head while
riding my bicycle near their nest.

Donald is right about these birds. A real menace, to humans and other
birds. I describe them as the school yard bullies. They usually perch
near their nest and dive-bomb you if you get close.

The original "angry bird."
