More and more the sense of being trapped by the metal bars of balconies and the fire escapes with no means of escape. There is the sense, for me, in the opening picture that the sky is not a sky but the ceiling of a room with that sense working to enhance the feeling that there is no escape from this setting. I like the textural sense created by both metal and brickwork and the toning of the pictures which adds to the feeling of dereliction and collapse.

I thought fire escapes were only good in the movies with cops chasing bad guys.
You've managed a very artistic look. Dynamic with the upward view.

Home sweet home complete with laundry, BBQ, trash barrel, and potted plants. The extraordinary construction becomes even more dramatic with your processing choices. The emotional impact comes from imagining oneself living here and empathizing with those who do. How far we have come from hunting and gathering.
