A freezing rain can create things of beauty but unfortunately from my experience without crampons it is worth life and limb to go out for a walk to get pictures such as yours. I like the sense of texturing, the contrast between the blue sky and the iced over tree limb and the leaf and your perspective which creates the illusion of a diver leaping into the void.

The last rose of summer vs. the last leaf of winter

"don't leave me hanging " ..... wonderful

Water is the strangest stuff. Expands in the cold and does nutso things like this where you'd thing the ice would be below the branch not on its top. Nice capture, especially with that last leaf of the season hanging on.
