An interesting feel to this image with the viewer seemingly riding on the flow of material attached to the muse as he ponders the picture on the wall. The b&w format gives a ghostly (perhaps dreamy would be a better adjective) feel to the image which I think would be missing if this image had been rendered in color. I find a black background color works well with the picture to enhance the details.
