A dreamlike quality (feel) to your double exposure with the diagonal placement of the tree drawing the viewer through the dream.

The 'exposure' aspect of in camera double exposure is always the
hardest as it's easy for the brighter overlaps to appear over
exposed. This is interesting, but it would be better if there was
less of that bright exposure overlap.

To Paul: I think the signature of JPs images is that they don't conform to
norms like the exposure correction you are suggesting. That would
produce an image quite like all the rest in this genre.

I like the effect that was rendered here in this double exposure.
Almost like a bag of powder has been dumped on to the scene. The
comp is not the best though (for me). While I like the tree
bending I am not keen on the big up branch (or tree) in the middle
position. Has too much weight at that position compared the the
dreamy below. But - in these types of exposures - the camera gets
what it gets and that is what JP is after and presenting. I like
the image !! What is different and initially not quite liked
usually grows more liked over time. ( offers more to ponder
about).

Thanks everyone. Exposure is tough with these things. I'm usually
combining a texture with a shape or a setting and just trying to
retain as much detail as possible from both frames. It's hard to
avoid things getting overexposed and sort of mushy, but on one level
I like the fact that things blend together in a sort of indistinct
way. Makes it seem less like a double exposure and more like
something else.

Bright areas in images never translate well on screen I feel. Sure the print looks far better.

Not really an abstact but pleasing image with multiple ways to edit this
to one's individual taste....lighter, darker,sharper ,contrast...etc.

After various editings, I returned to original posting....Dream-like,
yes...like an early Spring snowscape
