Horse running oil painting

Another oil painting that I have just done. The photo quality is not so good as
the glazing has not dried up and I did use any polizing filter to remove the
glare.

Another great one with nice detailed motion.

Thanks Ayvarith for your comment. I took another photo of it as the previous one had some
glare on it.

The second image is the more visually appealing (removed the glare but also the sense of roughness from the opening picture) with the horse standing out more strongly against the background.

I like the OP better. It's the texture and the rough look I like. You are a excellent artist Chris!;-)

Both are very nice. Perhaps a version that falls in between the two would be the best. Just a
thought. I really enjoy horses and both of these images.

Fine art work, high standards as we have come to expect from yourself.

On the pose captured it seemed unnatural/ not quite right somehow on first glance

If you look at your previous post *Chased* the hind and forelegs are much closer together and it is in this position all four legs are off the ground. (Horse owners like this kind of look as it shows off the triangulation points)

The postioning of the rear legs also seems a little odd with only the far leg having a different shape in the lower part and no triangulation point being formed on rear legs.

It might well be a photo you have worked from and the horse has lost its stride for some reason, certainly flicking through a few images of my own of horses in gallop could find nothing like this pose. Just thought it might be due to galloping on sand which might make a difference
