Forms created by the facade of the Millenium Library and the sculpture named emptyful.

As part of Winnipeg's Public Art Program, Vancouver-based Pechet Studio won an international competition to create a public artwork at the center of the city. Called Emptyful ad standing 35 feet high and 31 feet wide, the stainless steel frame of a flask-like structure has been installed at the Millennium Library Plaza.

The artwork represents the idea that something can be empty and full at the same time. Pechet was influenced by the phenomenon of weather and human endeavor. When you first visit Winnipeg, it can appear empty and open, set amidst the vastness of prairie and sky. But within, the city is full of creative energy.

During the winter months, the water and fog is turned off but Emptyful will continue to display a color-changing light scheme. In its winter settings of oranges, tangerines, and golds, the lights will produce what Pechet calls glowing embers to warm up the cool nights.

Nice photos. I'm not much into abstract art but I really like the rotating range of colors photo, almost hypnotic.

Another vote for "rotating range of colors "...That's the image that
caught my attention from first viewing.

I wondered what these colorful patterns were for and discovered it was one of several pop up parks in downtown Winnipeg. Good luck with that idea with the last pop up park going from an urban oasis to a gravel parking lot.

Katolight is an international producer of agricultural, residential, and industrial power generation products and this structure is probably part of the generator for the adjacent highrise apartment but it still brought a "what's that?" to my lips.

It's difficult to pick a favorite of these, but perhaps #3.
