Now that sunsets are no longer visible from my apartment block with the setting sun having passed behind the line of the facade of my apartment block I thought I would post some sunset images from this year.

The initial one reminded me of volcanic explosion at night as the the last light of this particular sunset faded into the darkness.

I agree with your description of the OP. Bubbling lava, volcanic
explosion, a surreal image. I like the last one because of a different
perspective. Your height advantage eliminates the distracting elements
that mere mortals have to contend with shooting sunsets from the
ground.

I like your selection of sunsets Jan. The plane flying above the
setting sun is my fav. The last light is my other favorite image. You
have a front row seat when it comes to viewing sunsets Jan. Thanks for
