I remember when we were kids we filled a coke cooler with Garter
snakes and Milk snakes. My mother was all gun ho to see what was in
the cooler and had a crap when she lifted the lid.. LOL they flew
out of the container..

Wonderful capture with a head on view of the garter snake... I like that eye seemingly focused on yourself. As a kid in Vancouver these were the only snakes one ever saw and funny how many people were so scared of them... but anyone with a garden wanted them for the bugs.

Good capture. I love the little garters. When I was a kid I used to pick them up and feed them bits of hamburger for their supper...;-)

Nice and sharp and nicely captured. A few years ago I grabbed one by the tail as he was trying to escape in the doorjamb. They are quick and another second he would have made
it. He now runs freely in somebodies back yard.

Thanks for viewing and commenting.
I was young when I caught a grass snake and brought it back to the
street I lived on. I was showing it to my friends, it escaped and
people lost their minds throwing furniture at it trying to kill it.
Scared the heck out of me, they reacted so violently. It escaped in
someones garden.

Very nice! A garter with character!
