solitary polar bear

Assorted collection of images shot through the month of February. The opening image was taken of a solitary bear that was being fed by volunteers from their roof top perch. I liked this image with the darkened tongue contrasting with the white fur of the polar bear and for the fact that one can actually see the eye of the bear.

The temperature was -24C and with the wind factored in it felt like -35C on the day of this run.

The OP is a great catch, fortunate to catch the tongue out.

The OP is may favourite photo, good timing with the tongue.

two of the blacksmiths at this year's Festival du Voyageur

images of this blacksmith shop always bring back memories of my dad's
blacksmith shop up in Port Hardy, B.C. back in the late 1940s and early 1950s before moving to Vancouver

Seen this pair of wild turkeys on several occasions this winter and they are always in animated conversation... just chattering away with no regard for us mere humans.
