I do like the painterly feel you have brought to your composition of the Half Dome at sunset. The light from the setting sun highlighting face of Half Dome serves to focus the eyes of the viewer. I find a black background works best with this image serving to complement the colors of the landscape and highlighting the detailing of the setting.

I saw your beautiful b/w version on FB. This is something else Paul.
The lighting is the subject and you captured it beautifully. One of
best images I've seen in quite a while

It's beautiful. Looks almost like a painting to me. Love that lighting/details on the dome. Great job, Paul.;-)

Lovely take.

Looks like it might of been quite chilly where you took it from

I have looked at this ten times and still don't know what to say or even whether I like the sense of it. I can say your timing and comp is great!

Thanks everybody.

So this was pretty cool: I was just checking out Jimmy Chin's
website when this pops up and I thought, "Hey, that looks familiar!"
It looks like he was standing right where I was! The thing is, this
was pretty far into the wilderness, not on any kind of trail... In
fact it would be a pretty good trick just finding this spot again,
even having been there.
