Some pictures taken during the month of December starting off with one of the warming huts.

Huttie is a warming hut destined to delight both the young and old. Inspired by the retro cult children’s T.V. series H.R. Pufnstuf. River trail visitors will be transported into Huttie’s technicolor splendour. Huttie - it’s your friend when the weather’s rough!

One can imagine cold and walking along the ice trail and then seeing this brightly coloured structure and knowing it was a warming hut and being drawn magnet like to its shelter.

these four geese endured the cold at Forks Harbour for over a month and then one day this past week they disappeared... did they get tired of waiting for Spring and flew south? were they captured by a bird rescue organization to get warmer quarters for winter? or did they go in search of open water?
