Your treatment of the bones works well in my mind to bring out the textural side of the composition... the classic feel that one could reach right into the image and feel the weathered roughness of the bones. I thought at first the bones were lying on the grounds but actually they are superimposed on a skyscape which works well to enhance the sense of the title of Alien Bones. I'm glad I tried a black background or I think I would missed the sense of the starry sky.
