Yawning Cormorant

I was standing quite close to this Cormorant when it yawned.
I kicked myself that I missed an opportunity. I focused on
his head waiting to see if he'd do it again. He didn't. I
remembered how if you yawn in front of some one you can make
them yawn too. So I forced a big yawn making the yawning
sound as I did it in front of the Cormorant, and he yawned
again. Question I ask myself, did I make him yawn, or was it
a coincidence ?

The contrast between the cormorant and the blue background serves to make the bird stand out strongly in the image which along with the clarity of detail has created a striking image. I have the sense from the yawning bird and the twisted nature of its neck of a serpent about to strike.

Not a PRETTY bird, but good work all the same!

That cormorant is probably wondering the same thing you are. Good
