Striking image of the female Redwing. I like the contrast between the bird, foliage and the background which brings a sense of depth to the image, the clarity of detailing and, yes, the catch light in the eye. There is a painterly feel to the composition.

Thanks, Jan and Sandi! The lady is actually a female red-winged blackbird. Sorry for the loose use of the name for this chanteuse.

One of the more elegant images of the female Redwing I've see. We
have them here in Montreal by the thousands. They are bullies and
'pretty much run the park' I call them the 'Hells Angels' of birds
