On a recent visit to the Assiniboine Park Zoo I finally managed to get a photograph of one of the Amur tigers. I was attracted to the location by a large group of people watching this tiger pacing in front of them but when he disappeared out of sight the group left. I figured he had to be coming back and focused through the fencing and hoped the tiger would walk through the spot without the fencing showing up except in the background.

Not quite fall when I took this but with all the exuberant colors of fall in the last days of summer.

One could think this is an Easter egg but it is a hand painted rock I spotted in the Memory Park. There are a number of coloured stones and hand painted signs placed in this small garden in memory of missing or murdered individuals.

One of the final sunsets of the year that will be visible from my apartment... and the 6 months or so of no sunset to be seen from my apartment.

Another nice collection. The rock is especially interesting.

I liked the textural feel that the plastic wrap effect brought to these Rudbeckia.

Everywhere one goes in downtown Winnipeg there is construction and the start of construction in the street along side my apartment block at 8AM is like an alarm clock. And then there is the renovation of the entire lobby in my apartment block. Just living in a construction zone so to speak.
