museum over ice sculptures

For the last while there has been a mini drought in southern Manitoba centering on Winnipeg with much below rainfall amounts. It is only recent days that there has been a significant rainfall which is probably very appreciated by the farmers of southern Manitoba as well as those people who are out fighting forest fires and grass fires in the local area.

I put together some pictures from the past winter (and the previous winters) when there was a great deal of snow and ice... enough to create the sculptures in the posted picture and the ice castles from the past winter.

Your photos are nicely framed. My favourite is the snowy path. In your OP, it would have been nice if there was a way to bring out more
detail in the ice sculpture. Quite often an artist would add some colorful lighting to make the sculpture glow.

Jan, ...In the original post, I notice two polar bears in the
background...Was that your entry in the ice sculpture contest ? :-)
In the last post, the light pole reminds me of a microphone which
suggests one ice sculpture being interviewed by another.....
Ice sculptures are always interesting to look at.
