The heat of the past weeks and the heat that lies ahead had me searching for images of a cooler time during the past year.

The opening image was taken looking west along the Assiniboine River as a weather system worked itself into a blizzard in early January 2017.

The blowing snow has nearly reduced the setting to a near bw view along the Assiniboine River.

OP quite nice especially the placement of the one lone figure.

The cold and snow images are appreciated by me , Jan. I will choose
cold over heat, anytime. Easy for me to say, I guess , because I live
in a mild climate year round.

The ice in the river , at first glance , had me assuming it was a polar
bear abstract :-)

Even on the cold days there are saving graces such as the ice sculptures (and food) at the Festival du Voyageur.
