I find a black background seems to heighten the presence of the sheep twisting its neck as it gazes in your direction. I like the toning of the image.

I wish I could twist my neck like that but I probable would end up in bed for a couple of days if I tried.

One of those images that stop me in my tracks but frustrate me because

Relate to the above comment, though I think it is the conflicting gazes of the the two subjects caught. If I crop down to just above the eyes on the bg sheep, the conflict is reduced focusing only on the intent stare of the fg sheep, which though nice takes away from the overall feel, well imoh

I can see that crop although I wouldn't like the dimensions. I think the
space at the top continues to draw one into the comp and partly away
from the gaze of the primary subject. It may not enter my portfolio.
Interestingly enough it was well received on Facebook and Instagram
accounts.
