Old abandoned truck in woods
Comments by Rory Hudson on Fri, 05/04/07 02:23 Very nice, Julie, you have got the depth of field just right so that the truck is sharp while most of the rest is soft. This is a subject matter I like. The branch over the headlight is a good touoh. Monochrome was probably best for this. Comments by Ruth Rittichier on Fri, 05/04/07 07:43 Agree with Rory. Well done, Julie. Comments by Jan Bjorklund on Fri, 05/04/07 08:20 I like the painterly feel of the composition, the toning working well with a black background, and the illusion that is created by the engine as of a human face looking back at the viewer. Comments by Rick Longworth on Fri, 05/04/07 15:38 I guess a big factor is to get the truck to stand out against a busy background. The slight blur seems to do quite well. Did you enhance it at all this time? The llc seems a bit too bright and could be burned a little or a lot.
Comments by Ray Ewing on Fri, 05/04/07 21:43 good one, nice atmosphere Comments by Steve Owen on Fri, 05/04/07 22:34 Very nice! I like the effect you achieved here. There is something appealing about old trucks. Comments by Allen on Sat, 05/05/07 06:17 Very nice Julie and it works well in B&W. Good PS work. Comments by Dave Lavash on Sat, 05/05/07 09:30 A great find and well taken. Comments by Michael Hibbitts on Sat, 05/05/07 10:26 Seems a little soft up front - are you using a tripod? Comments by Julie M. Dant on Sat, 05/05/07 16:58 Thanks everyone, I am behind again on my responses..sorry. I appreciate all comments very much, though. I used my salt and pepper filter 2x on this (called buzz effect in Paintshop I believe). Then blurred the background a little. I also did a little cloning to clean up the branch. Nope, no tripod. Here is the original.
Comments by Garry Schaefer on Sat, 05/05/07 19:05 Effective treatment of the original for a good result. Comments by Luka Ban on Sun, 05/06/07 08:40 Nicely done. Comments by Julie M. Dant on Sun, 05/06/07 10:20 Rick here is the version with the llc burned. I see what you mean. I hope I did it correctly.
Comments by Linda Frey on Sun, 05/06/07 21:15 Nicely done, Julie. Your burning looks just right, too. Comments by Maria Salvador on Tue, 05/08/07 11:24 Linda said it well. I agree! :-) Comments by Caillault on Wed, 05/16/07 11:30 Julie, this is probably my favorite of all pictures on the site, I mean it.
