I love watching these little guys going head first down a tree trunk. Nice shots.

The OP with the seed in his mouth reminds me of the blue jays in the backyard the other day, on the scarlet runner vines. Les, do you think it's safe for blue jays to eat dry beans?

Great captures Les. Like Linda, I am used to seeing them upside down on
tree trunks. The second image is great DOF and colour contrast. If the
first did not have the branch behind it, that would have been perfect,
but these guys can be so un-obliging at times, can't they. Really
enjoyed viewing these Les.

Even with the vertical line of the tree branch in the background in the first image I prefer that picture with the little bird holding the seed in its bill. I like the lean of the body in the opening picture as if the seed is so heavy that is pulling the body of the nuthatch to the side.
